Congratulations on being an officer in your 4-H club! You deserve a lot of credit for taking on the responsibility of keeping your club organized and moving it forward.

Start off the year right - become familiar with the job by:
Reading Duties & Responsibilities of 4-H Club Officers

Playing Who Wants to Be a Parliamentarian?
Holding 4-H Club Officer Installion Ceremony to recognize Club Officers
And then end the year as one of the best - by competing and winning one of the Ross County Outstanding Officer Awards!

  • Print your Officer Books.
  • Purchase a set of Officer Books in the Extension office. Books must be pre-ordered so we have them ready for you. Call 702-3200.

  • a reference guide for assisting you in keeping your club's financial records and filling out your "Treasurer's Record Book" pages. Clubs may choose to re-use the handbook from year to year.  It is NOT necessary to turn this in at the end of the year.

Club Officer Awards

TREASURER, SECRETARY, & CLUB SCRAPBOOK

Treasurer and Secretary Awards will be given to the Top 5 Juniors (ages 9 - 13) and Top 5 Seniors (age 14 & up) in each area. Winners' awards will be included with Club Recognition year-end items.

  • Treasurer Books:
  1. By September 15, it is REQUIRED that EVERY club, complete & turn their club's "Treasurer's Record Book".   Note: This is an annual requirement whether or not the club chooses to compete for Top Officer Awards.
  2.  For clubs competing for Top Treasurer:  Awards will be presented to the Top 5 Juniors (ages 9 - 13) and Top 5 Seniors (age 14 & up).  Print & include a Treasurer's Score Sheet in your book. 
  • Secretary Books:
  1.  For clubs competing for Top Secretary:  Awards will be presented to the Top 5 Juniors (ages 9 - 13) and Top 5 Seniors (age 14 & up).   By September 15,  turn in your Secretary's Books. Print & include a Secretary Score Sheet in your book.

 

  • Club Scrapbooks:
  1. For clubs competing for Top Club Scrapbook: Awards will be presented to the Top Scrapbooks.  By September 15, turn in your Scrapbook.  Print & include a Scrapbook Score Sheet.

HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICERS
 

  • To receive an Outstanding (Health, Safety, or Environmental) Officer Award, the Club Officer must participate in the Officer Interview that is held during General Project Judging Day.

 

  • Participants need to:  (1) Bring their completed officer book with them that day and   (2) Sign up at the check-in table for an interview.

 

  • The top individuals in each area will have a picture plaque on display in the Jr. Fair Building during the Fair and will receive it during the Saturday Awards program.
