 What is the Ross County Junior Fair Board (JFB)?

  • The JFB plans and conducts the Junior Fair activities of the Ross County Fair. The members serve as Junior Fair Superintendents and assist the Jr. Fair Division Superintendents
  • The JFB is designed for youth who have proven leadership abilities and are willing to take on major responsibilities including:
     - Assist in determining the Jr. Fair Activity Schedule - plans and conduct Jr. Fair activities, show, and events.
     - Assist in getting the Jr. Fair facilities ready for shows and events.
     - Assist judges and ring officials with show ring chores during the fair.
     - Attend all regular meetings, special meetings, and special events of the Jr. Fair Board and department committees.
     - Maintain active and model membership in the organization that you are representing on the Jr. Fair Board.

Who are the JFB members?

  • The Ross County Junior Fair Board is comprised of members representing 7 county youth organizations:
    Farm BureauFCCLAFFABoy ScoutsGirl ScoutsOhio Grange,  and  4-H

  • Members must be 14 - 18 years old by January 1 of the current year.
  • Members must be in 9 - 12 grade with the full term falling within your high school years.
  • The Junior Fair Board is guided by 5 JFB Advisors, 2 Senior Fair Board Representatives, and an Extension Educator.

How can I get involved?

  • Apply by completing a Junior Fair Board Application (available in August).
  • Applications will be reviewed and potential members will be called in for an Interview (early September). 
  • The selected youth are notified and then begin a rewarding 4-H experience.
  • All applicants MUST sign and follow the Junior Fair Board Code of Conduct.
